Welcome! I am happy you are here. I first discovered my own benefits of art when I was an angsty teenager painting feelings on canvas in my closet. Using this medium as an outlet, I was able to express myself without using words and get out restless energy. Many ruined paint covered towels and years down the road, it was in a psychology class that I learned about the actual benefits of utilizing Art and Creativity in therapy.
Having a natural inclination to utilize art, I pursued learning about the therapeutic process. What makes individuals happy is personal, which is why I utilize various creative therapeutic techniques. Combining creativity and therapy, has allowed me to guide people out of their comfort zones on their journey to self-discovery.
l am passionate about collaborating with clients to build meaningful lives, improve wellness, and discover the authentic self. I take a Positive Psychology and Person Centered approach, allowing the client to direct their own self-discovery. Creativity is a main influence, allowing me to utilize art techniques, client-directed activities, behavioral approaches, and remain fluid to shape sessions. By encouraging, reflection, identifying what makes one happy, and showing unconditional support, allows me to understand.
